Repairs Not Needing Permits |
CALL the City inspector whose name is on page 2 of your permit. All necessary permits must be pulled and safety checks completed and submitted to the Truth-in-Housing office before a re-inspection is scheduled. |
CALL the evaluator who did your initial evaluation. |
There is a fee for a permit, based on what work is to be done. The permit must be obtained before the work is begun, and then a City of Minneapolis inspector inspects after the work is complete. Normally, there is no additional fee for inspection of completed work.
For non-permit items, the private evaluator will charge for the re-inspection.
Note: If an appointment is missed, or if repeated inspections are needed, the inspector or evaluator may require additional fees.
Licensed contractors will charge for a safety check.
The buyer has 90 days from the date of closing to complete the required repairs and get them re-inspected.
