The release of the 2000 Census Summary file 1 (SF1) provides the opportunity to look at the statistical demographic characteristics composition of Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Planning Department, Research and Strategic Planning Division created this comparison of 1990 and 2000 selected census information. The tabulation illustrates the 1990-2000 change and composition, by neighborhood, for each defined category. The city of Minneapolis has been divided into 11 communities, consisting of 80 neighborhoods and 3 industrial areas.

The purpose of this report is to provide the general demographic characteristic information for possible preliminary use in analyzing your geographic sub-areas in the city. The subjects are:
