Join the Band!
On behalf of the Minneapolis Police Band, I would like to invite you to join the band. If you enjoy making music with other music makers and can play an instrument, the Minneapolis Police Band may be the band for you. The band always welcomes new members and is patient with those whose skills may be a little rusty.
We play a variety of music -- from show tunes, marches and big band to classical. Don't let the classical music turn you off; you may not know the title, but I bet you will recognize the music!
In order to join the Minneapolis Police Band, you must be at least 18 years old, have some musical ability and may be required to pass a background check. Our band is made up of active and retired officers, nurses, doctors, office technicians, computer technicians, bus drivers, etc. We even have a couple of seasoned members who have been members for over 50 years. Some of our members had not played in 10 to 20 years and found our band and have greatly enjoyed their playing experience with us. So, dust off your instrument and start practicing!
Our regular rehearsal night is Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55408. So, give us a call at our business phone number, 612-673-5717, or leave a voice message and we will get back to you.
