With approximately 800 sworn police officers working in a variety of assignments, the Minneapolis Police Department is considered a mid-sized law enforcement agency. The department is also the most diverse in the state of Minnesota.

During the past two years, the Police Department has built a strong and lasting partnership with the community in hopes of strengthening our efforts in providing the best possible police services. This valued partnership has greatly contributed to our mission of creating and sustaining communities that are safe for its citizens to work, play, and visit.
